A woman invited a man she met on Tinder back to her place – and he then promptly ransacked it, it has been reported.
The burglary, in Rockland County, New York, led to police warning women to be careful about inviting online dates home with them.
Kevin Clark was arrested and charged with burglary, grand larceny and possession of stolen property.
He’d gone for a meal with his 25-year-old date before going back to her home, investigators claim.
As they sat chilling on the porch, he said he was going to the bathroom – but instead stole cash, jewellery and electronic devices, according to police.
He was arrested after the woman called 911, having allegedly spotted him going through her bag.
Police chief Brent Newbury, from South Nyack Police, said: ‘We would urge people if you’re going to meet somebody, use one of these dating sites, meet them in a public place, meet them where people are.
‘Don’t bring them back to your house unless you’re 100% sure they’re not a creep who’s going to do something like this.’
