Nigerian forward Victor Moses was in the starting line-up again as Chelsea beat Liverpool 1-0 in their international Champions fixture on Thursday, July 28.
Moses was impressive for Chelsea at the Rose Bowl with his direct running at the Liverpool back-line.
Gary Cahill‘s first-half header was enough for Chelsea who were reduced to 10-men in the game.
The defender rose highest from a Cesc Fabregas corner in the 10th minute, heading it past Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius for the only goal of the game on Wednesday.
Although Fabregas was sent off in the 70th minute for a crunching tackle on Ragnar Klavan, Liverpool could not find a way past
Moses was threatening in the opening period before Liverpool youngster Ovie Ejarias’s had his own chance.
With just 10 men, Chelsea sat back in the second half as coach Antonio Conte brought in Juan Cuadrado, Pedro and new signing Michy Batshuayi.
Moses and his Chelsea teammates face Real Madrid next while Liverpool play AC Milan next up in the ICC.
