Uganda to withdraw troops hunting rebels in Central African Republic

Uganda plans to withdraw troops involved in an operation to hunt down Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rebels in Central African Republic by the end of this year, a spokesman for its military said on Friday.

“We have communicated our intention to pull out. We have been told that the AU (African Union) thinks we should hold on a bit. We are yet to look at their request and consider the merits of that request,” said Paddy Ankunda.
