Dream Team VI striker, Oghenekaro Etebo has been ruled out of the rest of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games because of an injury.
Etebo who netted a quadruple in Nigeria’s first game got injured in the 2-0 loss to Colombia in the last Group B game.
He missed the 2-0 win over Denmark in the quarter-finals and was on Tuesday, August 16 given a 50/50 chance to be fit for the semi-final clash.
Reports coming in from Sao Paulo however have it that the striker won’t be available for the rest of the Olympics campaign.
According to sources, Etebo has no hope of recovering in time either for the final or third place match on Saturday, 20.
Junior Ajayi who replaced Etebo in the line-up against Denmark is likely to get the nod again.
Vice-captain Okechukwu Azubuike will also miss the game against Germany due to suspension.
Azubuike got yellow cards in the game against Colombia and Denmark.
