Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid man-in-charge, says his side will be favourites for their Champions League semi-final match when they go to square it out with Manchester City come April 26.
City, who outdid Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-final stage of the competition courtesy of their 1-0 second-leg win at the Etihad, will play the first leg at home on April 26 before heading for the Bernabeu on May 4.
A Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick earned Real a 3-0 win over Wolfsburg in midweek – and a 3-2 aggregate victory – but Zidane admits his team will face tougher opposition in Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
“It will be a very, very difficult game,” said the French World Cup winner. “But the good thing is that we play the return at home.
“Madrid are always favourites, and always will be. But we know how difficult it is to play a Champions League semi-final against Manchester City. We will do our best to go through.”
