Santi Cazorla’s stoppage-time penalty gave Arsenal a comeback 2-1 victory against Southampton at Emirates Stadium.
Referee Bobby Madley pointed to the spot after Jose Fonte had brought down Olivier Giroud, with Cazorla sending Fraser Forster the wrong way to seal victory in the 95th minute.
Saints took the lead when Dusan Tadic’s curling free-kick was superbly tipped onto the crossbar by Cech, only for the ball to ricochet off the goalkeeper’s back and into the goal.
However the Gunners, who handed a debut to Spanish forward Lucas Perez from the start, levelled in spectacular fashion, with Koscielny finding the net with a bicycle kick inside the box after Saints had failed to clear a corner.
Arsenal’s second-half pressure was rewarded with Cazorla’s late goal, securing their first home win of the league campaign.
