Perilous wildfires rage in California

A fire that started on Sunday in San Diego County, near the border with Mexico, has charred more than 1,900 acres of land.

“Red flag warnings” for extreme fire conditions are in force in several locations around California and New Mexico – as extreme temperatures continue to cause brush and forest fires.
