Former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
Jegede was, today, August 22, 2016, declared the winner of the PDP governorship primaries which held in Akure, the state capital.
He won 760 votes to defeat the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the PDP in the 2012 governorship election, Saka Lawal, who polled 22 votes.
Jegede served as AG from 2009 till July 22, 2016 when he resigned in order to pursue his governorship ambition. The governorship elections will hold on November 26.
