In his Children’s Day message made available to reporters through his special adviser on communication, Yomi Layinka, the governor said, “I do not shy away from talking about the urgent need to end the awful practice. Our government is out to protect all our children, regardless of the gender.”

Reminiscing on their role as the future leaders of the country, Ajimobi said that is why his administration prioritises issues bothering on welfare and protection of the children.

Ajimobi, however, tasked the children to be worthy ambassadors by imbibing good virtues and embracing education, which is the solid foundation to build the future. “My dear children, you can be all you wish and aspire to be through total belief in God, diligence to your study and hard work.”
