Head Coach of Nasarawa United Football Club, Kabiru Dogo, has assured his side will come out victorious against Club Sportif Constantine (CSC) of Algeria despite a slim first leg advantage.
According to reports, Dogo’s Lafia-based club won 1-0 in the CAF Confederation Cup second round first leg fixture played at the Abuja National Stadium on Sunday.
The coach said he was optimistic that his team would defend the slim lead and even build on it in the second leg game in Algeria.
“We are confident of victory in the second leg. We will watch some of their games and plan to score many goals there.
“Against the Senegalese side in the first round, Nigerians didn’t believe we will qualify for the next round. But we did,” he said.
Dogo also allayed fears that the Lafia side were losing ground in the local league, the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).
He said his team would bounce back to winning ways after their continental adventure.
“What I know is that all the competitions are very important, including the Federation Cup. But Nasarawa United will bounce back both in the league and any competition other we are in.
“It is just a matter of time. When we get back, you will see a different Nasarawa United,” Dogo said.(NAN)
