Budget Padding: ‘You’re disrespectful, unmannerly and desperate,’ APC scolds Jibrin

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has faulted the aggrieved former chairman of the House of Representatives appropriation committee, Abdulmumin Jibrin, for going against the party’s order.

The party had refrained Jibrin from further making public statements on the budget padding allegations he leveled against the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, and 11 others.

But Jibrin had on Sunday, August 7, leveled fresh allegations against the Speaker.

Frank said the lawmaker’s disobedience to the APC directives has showed that he does not have regard for the party leaders.

“It is now obvious how disrespectful, unmannerly and desperate Hon. Jibrin could be even to the leaders of our party, including the national deputy chairman north, national secretary, national treasurer and others who have been working to ensure that peace return to the house,” he said.

“But if Hon. Jibrin does not have respect for Speaker Dogara as a person, it is expected of him to respect the office of the speaker, the number four citizen of our party and the country.

“Jubrin should also be told that he has shown clearly shown disrespect for President Muhammadu Buhari who is the leader of our party by this singular act.

“It is high time Hon. Jibrin kept quiet and stopped this public show of shame before his excesses will be made known to Nigerians and the whole world.”

“His continued show of shame does not only stop at him but has great negative impact on the party, its members and the President Muhammadu Buhari’s government,” Frank said.

He said Jibrin’s action may attract sanction if the party deems it fit.
