Brock Turner rape case: Father writes powerful open letter to Stanford rapist’s father

A father has indited a powerful open letter to the Stanford rapist’s father, who wrote to the sentencing judge asking for leniency and stressing his son’s star potential as a swimmer.

Brock Turner, aged 20, was found guilty by a unanimous jury of sexually penetrating an intoxicated and unconscious person with a foreign object, digital rape and assault with intent to rape on the elite university campus.

The letter from his father Dan Turner, which said his son should not have been sent to prison for ’20 minutes of action’, has been condemned by many as minimising the crime.
