The 16th Annual BET Awards handed out trophies at a star-studded evening at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, 26 June. Beyonce dominated the glittery night not just by winning four awards but also by opening the ceremony with her surprising performance on the song Freedom from her hit album Lemonade. The singer was later joined by Kendrick Lamar who set the stage on fire while rapping and stomping along with Queen Bey.

The award ceremony, which honors the finest in entertainment, sports and culture, was hosted by Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross. Apart from the Lemonade hit maker’s enthralling act, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Future and French Montana entertained the audience with their alluring performances.
