One UK national is among those injured in last night’s deadly terror attack in Nice, Boris Johnson confirmed this morning.
“There will be ministerial meetings later on today to discuss the implications for this country, if any.
“If this is a terrorist attack, which is appears today, this represents a continuing threat to us and to the rest of Europe and we must meet it together.
“The only information that I have is that there is a UK national is injured.”
The attacker was finally stopped after 2km when police riddled the truck cab with bullets.
Dozens more are seriously and critically injured, while 50 children are in hospital.
It is unknown whether the UK national is counted among those so severely hurt, or what their gender or age is.
Last night the Foreign and Commonwealth Office refused to rule out any British fatalities in the attack.
This morning they released an updated statement which said: “We have offered support to the French authorities and are in close contact with them following the horrific attack in Nice.
“Our thoughts are with all those affected and we have staff in place who stand ready to help any British nationals.”
