Apprehension Sweeps Delta State Over Fulani Killing In Farm Land

Palpable tension has engulfed community in Delta State following the killing of two people by suspected Fulani Herdsmen in the early hours of yesterday.

While the Delta State government through the Secretary to The State Government, (SSG) Mr. Festus Ovie Agas, and Chief Imam in Asaba, Mallam Umar Katsina, claimed at a 2-day-stakeholders’ meeting that peace has returned to various communities allegedly under siege of the suspected Fulani Herdsmen’s attack, no fewer than two farmers have been  killed on their way to farm around Ogbe Iyase settlement, Ugbolu Community, Oshimili North Local Government Area of the State.

But the police image maker in the state, Mrs. Celestina Kalu, said she was yet to receive the report, adding that the police were battle ready to make the community uncomfortable for any hoodlum terrorizing the area.

It was reliably gathered that a pregnant woman was few weeks ago attacked in her farm by two suspected Fulani herdsmen fleeing from Akwukwu-Igbo Community after causing havoc with their cattle in the community.
