AfricanFootball.com can exclusively and authoritatively reveal today Ahmed Musa’s transfer to English Premier League champions Leicester City is now “75% complete”.
In January, Leicester tabled a bid of 18 million pounds for the CSKA Moscow flying winger, but it was rejected by his Russian club, who insisted they wanted him to stay back and win the league championship for them.
“Ahmed move to Leicester is now 75% complete. His former academy coach and former agent have both confirmed that most of the agreements have been reached,” a close confidant of the player, who grew up with him in Jos, informed only AfricanFootball.com
“They have only asked for prayers to ensure everything is completed very soon.”
The source added: “Several other English clubs like Spurs and Manchester United have been linked with Ahmed, but Leicester have clearly won the race for him now.”
It was also understood that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) excused Ahmed Musa from the friendlies against Mali and Luxembourg partly to allow the player wrap up his transfer to England.
The former VVV Venlo star and Mikel Obi will not feature in the friendlies for them to be part of Joseph Yobo’s testimonial on May 27 in Uyo.
